Supper at Aardman
2007-08
Acrylic on wooden board
Bristol artist Vincent Brown has depicted the Directors of Aardman Animations (also based in Bristol) working on three different stages of an animated film. Nick Park is sketching a scene from The Wrong Trousers while Peter Lord models Morph, one of Aardman’s plasticine stars. David Sproxton, standing, waits with his movie camera to transform the clay figures into living characters.
The three animators are joined round the table by two of their best-loved characters, Wallace and Gromit, no longer six-inch puppets but as real and alive as their own creators.
